At this point in the year, we are starting to get into the routine of things and realizing what we will be doing throughout the year. I am really liking doing the creative writing because it is giving me a lot of time to work on my college application writing prompts and making sure they are all done by the deadline I need them done by. I like when we get to share a line or word from our writing because it makes me curious about what everyone in the class is writing about. Although, sometimes it is hard to choose something to share from mine. Another thing that I really enjoyed about this week was peer editing the summer reading essays. I liked being able to read an essay about books I did not read because, if it was a good essay, I would be able to understand what was going on and I would be able to realize the connection. We were able to get really good feedback on our essay and learn about where we should improve in our writing. http://writing2.richmond.edu/writing/wweb/peeredit.html This is a good guide to follow if you need help with peer editing. The poem I liked the most this week was "Please Don't Take My Air Jordans". The man reciting it really got my attention and I was intrigued with everything that he was saying. Every poem so far has had me thinking about other meanings it may have and what is going on in and around the writing.
